British shoe retailer C&J Clarks International has plans to expand the number of standalone stores in India to 100 in the next five years.The company believes strongly in the growth pace of Indian markets,and sees it as a important market from the viewpoint of investment.In India,Clarks is already operating in India through Clarks Future Footwear, an joint venture with the Future Group.C&J Clark International Ltd. is a UK-based footwear and accessories retailer.
The Future Group has entered into a 50:50 joint-venture (JV) to form ‘Clarks Future Footwear Ltd.’and JV launched its first (1,600 sq ft.) stand-alone store in Delhi.
According to one of the study conducted by clarks in India,Men’s footwear covers maximum market percentage as compared to Women’s Footwear.The company recently opened its first franchisee store in Guwahati. Clarks is testing e.commerce as well as a franchisee option to increase the sales in India.
