<\/a>cath kidston<\/p><\/div>Breaking News India<\/a><\/strong>, Franchise News India<\/a><\/strong>,Retail Franchise<\/a><\/strong> Cath Kidston, the brand famed for its floral prints, is taking its first steps into India as part of its ambitious global expansion plan.<\/p>\n The kitsch retailer is targeting the fast-growing market by opening two franchise <\/a><\/strong>shops in Delhi <\/a><\/strong>and another in Mumbai <\/a><\/strong>this autumn.<\/p>\n The franchise<\/a><\/strong> stores are part of an agreement with Mumbai-based Planet Retail Holdings, and Cath Kidston<\/a><\/strong> plans to increase the number of shops in India <\/a><\/strong>over the next few years.<\/p>\n “India is one of the fastest growing markets in the world and we are very excited about bringing Cath Kidston to India,” said chief executive Kenny Wilson.<\/p>\n The company now has 226 stores worldwide with 68 in the UK.”We believe our affordable, fun, British, vintage-inspired clothes, bags, childrenswear and homeware will appeal to people in India of all ages”, Mr Wilson added.<\/p>\n “We do a lot of homework before we enter a new market and we already know from the growing online sales that people in India like our products. From this, we think that India could potentially become a very successful and important market for us.”<\/p>\n Cath Kidston<\/a><\/strong>, the woman behind the eponymous brand, stepped down as a director of the company in June after giving up her role as creative director in November 2014. Christine Hafsen, who has a design pedigree from Burberry, Esprit and Louis Vuitton, is now in charge of the retailer’s designs.<\/p>\n Ms Kidston, who opened her first shop in West London’s Holland Park in 1993, continues to own an 11pc stake. Cath Kidston’s senior management owns 9pc while private equity firms Baring Asia and TA Associates both control 40pc each. <\/p>\n Since Baring Asia took its significant stake in 2014 Cath Kidston has been focused on expansion <\/a><\/strong>opportunities in Asia which culminated in the retailer last year buying out its Japanese franchise business<\/a><\/strong>. 1.
