Ginger Hotels<\/strong> is looking at franchise<\/a><\/strong> mode of operations to expand its footprint in India<\/a><\/strong>. Currently, Ginger Hotels has 30 properties operational across 24 cities in India. In addition, the company is looking at operating 40 hotels by 2018. Last year, Roots Corporation Ltd. recorded 22 per cent growth compared to 2012. This information was revealed by PK Mohankumar, Managing Director & CEO, Roots Corporation Ltd.<\/p>\n

Elaborating on the expansion plan, Mohankumar said, \u201cThe properties that are operational in India are either greenfield, brownfield or lease projects. These hotels are across all the four zones, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western India. To further grow the brand in the Indian market, we are looking at franchise business<\/a><\/strong> agreements. Furthermore, we want to tap family-run businesses; participating in equity to revitalise and upgrade these hotels to Ginger brand standards, thereby operate on lease or revenue-sharing model. With the objective of catering to business travellers in the budget segment, Ginger Hotels has completed ten years of operations and retains 50-60 per cent of market share.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to expand through profitable growth. We want to be present at every city where there is an airport. We are also looking at pilgrimage destinations including Tirupati, Katra, Shirdi, Ajmer etc.,\u201d he informed.<\/p>\n

In order to offer value-for-money experience to its guests, Ginger Hotels had conducted \u2018Mission 365 Operational Experience\u2019 where every minute detail of various departments including housekeeping, security, engineering was addressed. Mohankumar added, \u201cThe guest satisfaction index was increased after the programme was conducted at each hotel. We aim to offer affordable, clean and hygiene, safe and secure and easy access to reservation to our guests.\u201d
