There was a time when the hype during days leading up to the Union Budget was nothing short of an India-Pakistan match. The intensity, however, has tapered down over the past few years and it is a very good thing. Budgets are no more about radical changes and big bang announcements.
\nIt is commendable that successive Finance Ministers have understood that a Budget, more than anything else, needs continuity in policies, certain amount of predictability and at the same time not spook people.
